M. Hulot passe sans cesse d\u2019un monde \u00e0 l\u2019autre et s\u2019entend tr\u00e8s bien avec son neveu, G\u00e9rard, qui adore le suivre dans son vieux quartier. Pour \u00e9viter qu\u2019il ait une mauvaise influence sur son fils, M. Arpel procure \u00e0 Hulot un travail dans son usine de mati\u00e8res plastiques, et son \u00e9pouse tente de le marier avec une voisine snob. Le succ\u00e8s est loin d\u2019\u00eatre garanti\u2026<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text has-media-on-the-right is-stacked-on-mobile\"><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<p>Le plus grand succ\u00e8s international d&rsquo;un cin\u00e9aste de g\u00e9nie. Dissident tranquille \u00e0 un modernisme aussi ridicule qu&rsquo;agressif, M. Hulot passe de son monde ancien aux m\u0153urs et \u00e0 l&rsquo;habitat \u00e9tranges de la nouvelle bourgeoisie, symbolis\u00e9e par le couple Arpel. Hulot<\/em>, Jacques Tati perturbe ici l\u2019univers \u00e9lectrom\u00e9canique bourr\u00e9 de gadgets des Arpel. Dans ces \u00ab\u00a0ann\u00e9es 50\u00a0\u00bb, \u00e9poque de prosp\u00e9rit\u00e9 baptis\u00e9e \u00ab\u00a0les Trente Glorieuses\u00a0\u00bb (1945-75), o\u00f9 l\u2019on se rue sur les nouveaux appareils m\u00e9nagers (r\u00e9frig\u00e9rateurs, machines \u00e0 laver\u2026), l\u2019automobile, etc., Tati ne fait pas de discours d\u00e9nonciateur.
