Son fils Jeffrey, rentrant chez lui apr\u00e8s une visite \u00e0 son p\u00e8re malade, d\u00e9couvre une oreille humaine dans un champ. Cette oreille, en d\u00e9composition, est couverte d&rsquo;insectes. Jeffrey apporte imm\u00e9diatement sa trouvaille \u00e0 l\u2019inspecteur Williams et fait ainsi la connaissance de sa fille, Sandy.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text has-media-on-the-right is-stacked-on-mobile\"><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<p>Pouss\u00e9 par la curiosit\u00e9 et un certain go\u00fbt pour le myst\u00e8re, Jeffrey va mener l&rsquo;enqu\u00eate avec elle pour d\u00e9couvrir \u00e0 qui appartient cette oreille et ce que cache cette histoire macabre, derri\u00e8re la fa\u00e7ade apparemment innocente de Lumberton. N\u00e9anmoins, le film vaut \u00e0 Lynch sa deuxi\u00e8me nomination \u00e0 l&rsquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Oscar_du_meilleur_r%C3%A9alisateur\">Oscar du meilleur r\u00e9alisateur<\/a>, et il re\u00e7oit les prix du meilleur film et du meilleur r\u00e9alisateur de l&rsquo;ann\u00e9e de la <a href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/National_Society_of_Film_Critics\">National Society of Film Critics<\/a>. Il est devenu un <a href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Film_culte\">film culte<\/a>. <em>Blue Velvet<\/em> permet aussi de revitaliser la carri\u00e8re de Hopper et d&rsquo;offrir \u00e0 Rossellini la possibilit\u00e9 de montrer son talent d&rsquo;actrice dramatique, jusque l\u00e0 connue pour son travail de mannequin et de porte-parole pour les cosm\u00e9tiques.
